Truxton

Despite what you may think, Bakersfield does have some nature. The Kern River flows through Bakersfield and has a trail that goes from the west side of town to the east side. Along it there is a nice bike path and trail with parks within every 3 miles or so. There is an occasional oil drill to your left and right, warning signs of polluted water and a nice factory dumping smog into the air, but after a while, you just don't notice it.
